What is heel pain?

Heel pain is more commonly called “heel spurs”. Heel spurs are an abnormal growth of the bone at the heel of the foot. Heel spurs may affect one heel at a time. In some cases there may be no history of any sudden injury. This is a painful condition and can worsen over time.  

What can cause a heel spur?

Certain sports may bring on a heel spur at a young age. Excess weight gain may also be related to heel spurs. Without care or treatment, heel spurs can get worse in most cases. 

Is a heel spur treatable?

Yes, usually heel spurs are easily treated conservatively.
