Plantar Fasciitis

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

The overuse and possible tearing of the tissue that connects the heel of the foot to the toes. This tissue helps support the different foot muscles and when it is overly used it can become irritated and inflamed.

What are the different types of treatment?

The best possible treatment can be provided by a medical professional. We suggest scheduling an appointment for a consultation. We offer many different in-office treatments.

What are the different risk factors that contribute to developing Plantar Fasciitis?

  • Those with flat feet or high arches
  • Individuals over 40
  • Wearing high heels or worn-in shoes that offer no support
  • Practicing excessively demanding exercise
  • Obesity

How many follow-up visits will I need?

This may vary based on the severity of the condition. Dr. David C. Scherer will discuss this further upon your initial visit. Please feel free to schedule an appointment with our office. The office number is (954) 776-0000. We look forward to hearing from you!

What are some of the different symptons?

Burning and stabbing pain on the bottom of the foot are some the symptoms. Usually, you may feel pain upon your first steps in the morning.

Do you offer custom insoles?

Custom insoles are one of the possible treatments for Plantar Fasciits. We take a custom mold of your feet and create insoles that will help to support your arch and may relieve foot pain.
